The California Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation is excited to announce the Memorial Monument Expansion Project.

IN OUR HEARTS WE HONOR THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES – FOR WE CAN DO NO LESS.

Why expand the Memorial Monument?

  • Every year during National Police Week in the month of May, people from across California join together at the California Peace Officers’ Memorial Monument to honor our fallen heroes. Attendance at the annual Memorial Ceremony continues to grow, and the new open footprint provides a more functional layout to accommodate guests and most importantly the surviving families of our Honored Officers – past and present.
  • The Memorial Monument is a living tribute that will never be ‘completed’.
    • Every year California Peace Officers make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
    • Every year more names are added to the Memorial Monument.

Our new design provides space to honor our fallen heroes for the next 200 years.

  • The over 1,680 names of our Honored Officers’ – and all those added in the future – will be etched in stone, permanently placed for family members and guests to visit. Both open space and more private areas for reflection are an important aspect of the new design.
  • Incorporation of additional sculptures and reliefs reflect the modern face of law enforcement, and the various assignments served in.

Our goal is an ambitious one…

Completion of the project by our 50th Annual Memorial Ceremony – May 2028
